Auto club speedway, also known as the California Speedway for sponsorship purposes, is an eighteen-mile high, two-turn, low banked, oval superspeedway located in Fontana, CA that has hosted NASCAR race cars since 1997. It is also known as the San Diego Auto Club.
The stadium is built on land owned by the San Diego Chargers, who are a division of the NFL. In order to construct the speedway, the city purchased and tore down a number of historic buildings including the former City Hall, along with the old Civic Auditorium.
In addition to a two hundred thousand seat facility, the Auto Club Speedway hosts events for both amateur and professional car racing. NASCAR is one of its most popular events, with its popularity growing over time. In fact, the stadium has been named as the host venue for the Sprint Cup Series races in the past.
There are a number of different types of tracks on this oval-shaped stadium, all of which are suitable for speed racing. The track is divided into sections, with the first and second sections featuring a straightaway, while the third section features a curved backstretch. The fourth section features an eight-turn main straightaway and the fifth and sixth sections feature turns similar to those found in many auto clubs across the country.
Drivers must use multiple pits during the race and must complete four laps with their pit crew before they can leave the track. Each pit is named after an icon of Americana – the famous “Pilotto's” or the Old Dutchies. The race is completed on a Saturday, and there is a “Speedway Fest” on Friday night.
One of the best places to view the Auto Club Speedway is from the comfort of your own home, as it is accessible to most major roads. It can be accessed from either the San Diego Tollway or the Angeles National Forest Park Road. There are public parking lots on either side of the road where you can pay to park and enjoy a nice day at the fair. You can take the toll road to reach the site, or take the forest road and drive to the stadium.
For car racers interested in car racing, the facility is also home to a race shop and is a favorite spot for auto club racing teams, car collectors, and enthusiasts. This is where you can find all the information you need to get started in the sport of car racing.
If you wish to experience some live racing, the track is available for rent during the week, and it offers free admission for children under 12. However, parking is an additional fee. All you have to do is contact the track directly for these dates and arrange to park on the premises.
Because of its popularity, the Auto Club Speedway has a reputation for being a difficult venue for first timers. Many newbies find themselves getting into too much trouble. There is nothing like being at a great event and getting frustrated because you don't know what to expect when you step up to the starting line. For this reason, it is best to start with a few events at different tracks before you decide whether or not you want to try your luck at the Auto Club.
Before you attend any races held at the Auto Club Speedway, be sure to get an idea about the pace and rules of the circuit. This includes the exact start and finish time, as well as any restrictions that may apply to drivers, and what types of vehicles are allowed on the track.
If you want to see a certain driver at work, the track is open to spectators as well. So, if you'd like to watch some driver work on their own, you could set up a stall near the track entrance and take advantage of this special feature.
When you're ready to get back out onto the asphalt, you'll have to take your racing shoes off and remove your car from the garage so that you can go back to the starting line. If you haven't had enough fun yet, or if you feel the need to add something more to the experience, you can still go back onto the asphalt and race your way into victory.
